Nasty Women, Artworks Artspace, Cambridge
I have a painting in the show Nasty Women at Cambridge Artworks runing 21 Apr 2017 – 30 Apr 2017. A group show, part of a global art movement demonstrating solidarity among artists in the face of threats to roll back women’s , individuals, LGBTQ, refugee and immigrant rights.
This exhibition is a fundraiser. All art will be for sale, %100 of proceeds will go Cambridge Women’s Aid, Corona House and Cambridge Rape Crisis.
Models for Movers, solo exhibition at Glucksman Ireland House, New York University
Please join us for the opening of Models for Movers a solo exhibition by Lisa O’Donnell at Glucksman Ireland House, New York University on Thursday December 3rd at 7pm. The exhibition coincides with the launch of the 25th anniversary edition of the book Models for Movers a groundbreaking collection of Irish women’s oral histories spanning three waves of emigration to America, by oral historian Íde B. O’Carroll. On the evening there will also be a performance by Irish actor Maeve O’Mahony.

This exhibition brings together two artists from both sides of the Atlantic. Exploring their combined interests and experiences of Irish immigration and diaspora, Galway-born Lisa O’Donnell and native New Yorker Maeve D’Arcy’s work approaches the subject from two different artistic perspectives and geographical locations. This show has traveled from New York where it was exhibited at The New York Irish Arts Center during their Spring 2015 season.
This project has been generously supported by Galway County Council Arts’s Office.

#Working, Kathryn Markel Gallery, Bridgehampton, New York
I’m showing work in #working a group show at Kathryn Markel Fine Arts Gallery in Bridgehampton, that features artists based in New York, LA, and London. The show explores what it means to be a working artist in the contemporary art world. It invites the viewer to contemplate the lives of working artists. The title references the relevance of social media and branding oneself within the art world, and suggests to the viewer that the process of making work and presenting/showing it to an audience is a multifaceted task. #working is curated by NYC based visual artist Maeve D’Arcy.

On the opening evening there will be an artists talk with Jonathan Goodman, a professor of Fine Art at The Pratt Institute. The show runs until April 30th. The New York Art Residency & Studios (NARS) Foundation is pleased to present Layers of Response, an exhibition celebrating the new work and associated exchange of the NARS Residency Artists created during the past six months. Weekend Exhibition in Brooklyn
With various artists invited to send works/givings from Australia and other parts of the globe, a sun filled lounge-room in Prospect Lefferts Garden, Brooklyn will facilitate a Friday and Saturday afternoon exhibition ‘Mr President, there are three things guaranteed in life. We will all die at some stage, each day the sun will set, and it will rise again tomorrow. Today is just one of those days’.

My video Slip has been selected for We Wear Short Shorts, curated by MART for 2012 Irish Film Festival, London. The video works will be show at The Riverside Studios, Hammersmith. The screening will also be shown at MART, Dublin for Culture Night 2013.
